Halloween Popcorn Balls are fun and adorable Halloween treats that are incredibly easy to make while creating a lasting impression on those you serve them to this Halloween!
With a little guide, you can get the kids to help you make, roll, and decorate these deliciously sweet and crunchy Halloween Popcorn Balls!
Recipe Notes:
- Apply some nonstick cooking spray to your hands and fingers to prevent the freshly made Halloween popcorn balls from sticking to you when rolling the mixture into balls.
- You don’t need to insert popsicle sticks into these Halloween treats but it does make it much easier to handle them.
- This recipe makes about 6 Halloween popcorn balls. You can adjust the size of your popcorn balls to make more or less popcorn balls or simply double the recipe if you are preparing these treats for a crowd.
- Another cute way to serve these Halloween popcorn balls is in Halloween-inspired cupcake liners. It’ll make them easy to hold as bite-sized treats without mess.
Absolutely! If you’re making these treats with the kids, then I’d suggest making them in the microwave to avoid any stovetop burn accidents. You will need to stir the butter, marshmallows, and caramel candies during intervals when using the microwave.
1. Use any preferred candy in these popcorn balls. While I used Reese’s Pieces, you could use M&Ms.
2. Add chopped nuts for extra flavor and crunch.
3. Use different colored chocolate for the coating and drizzle.
4. Experiment with different types and colors of sprinkles.
Halloween Popcorn Balls
- Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a large pot melt butter. Once melted add in caramel candies, marshmallows, and cinnamon. Stir with a rubber spatula until smooth.
- Add in popcorn and mix quickly.
- Fold in Reese pieces and then form into popcorn balls, about the size of an orange.
- You may want to spray your hands with cooking spray so they won’t stick. Place on parchment paper and stick a popsicle stick in the center. Allow to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dip the bottom of the popcorn ball into the desired chocolate color and sprinkles, then drizzle the opposite color over top.
- Add edible eyeballs or halloween sprinkles over chocolate before it hardens to decorate.
